The litany of items I could list that delayed my return home. To see the mountains and winter's trees gifted a drive of soft gentle sweet tears. The list continued upon my return as I tried so hard to get out and walk with nature's mountains and trees.
Finally, just before sunset I scurried out. My heart so wanted to say thank you for nature's presence that traveled with me. As I rounded the bend, there she stood. As if she had been patiently waiting. We just stood and spoke in silence. Slowly she walked back into the mountains. I bowed and watered the drought hardened earth with my tears. The whisper so gentle...there are no delays or detours if I but listen with my heart and look to see what waits for me.

Practicing
"Take your time. I'm in no hurry. Death comes soon enough."
His voice was melodic. The clerk's eyes, looking at a line that would make any box office promoter drool, softened and smiled. "Thank you," she whispered. My impatient sigh transformed and whispered, "Thank you." Perhaps that's why it's called a spiritual practice. I have not arrived. "Take my time. I'm in no hurry. Death comes soon enough. Everything is practice."

Morning Gift of Laughter
My cell phone stopped making calls. Ring. Hello. Disconnect. On my way out to retrieve another phone life inserted the gift of laughter. Please note...the skunks were really there. The imagination did the rest. May your day be filled with seeing the humor despite what is in front of you....

Q & A
Question: I need my eyes. I need to see, to read, to ..... When? Please.
Reply: So much beauty in between. But who can deny the beauty of the pod containing the red flower waiting to explode in vibrant tissue like petals. Nor can the beauty of the empty cocoon, more fragile than the petals it nursed into life, be denied. To see only the middle, is to miss the true beauty of softness and emptying.

Life unfolding
I did not know what it was
It started to reveal
And then she blossomed and unfolded
Life.
It started to reveal
Not yet she said, but almost
Life.
